This painting I've called Ngurra. Ngurra means Homeland.
When I think about my Ngurra; I think about how we walked side by side, yet in different directions with Strangers, that came from across the sea, to my ngurra.
Today I see change, things are so much different.

I decided to paint on canvas, how I pictured it in my mind, what it might have been like for those Children. This painting depicts Children, being taken from their native family and Traditional way of Life into an unbroken hazy circle of another man's World.

The turtle and the turtle egg was a big part of my up bringing. My brothers, Sisters and myself spent many weekends collecting turtle eggs with our father.
Turtle meat was my favourite meat, then and still is today.
